The food was so good I forgot to take a picture of it, but it was delicious! The burgers were excellent!
Came for breakfast right before labor day weekend because a friend suggested it. Old school diner vibe, which was welcome as Montauk is turning into the Hamptons ever so slowly, with old school prices. Food was good but needed a little more flavor. Waitress was great, quick with water and then our order. Keep in mind they are an "Only Cash" establishment.
We came in to grab a bite on Saturday around 1pm. We were seated right away and provided menus. The place was clean. There were only a few people in the restaurant. We had water to drink. My friend ordered the breakfast combo and was allowed to substitute bacon for sausage patties. I ordered the special California BLT sandwich. It came out in a decent amount of time. The staff were preparing to close but chatting loudly by the bar which was distracting. I enjoyed the BLT it was flavorful. My friend enjoyed her breakfast and the pancakes were fluffy. Thankfully we had cash. Not sure if I would return as the food seemed basic for the price but it was affordable considering the area.
Mr. John's Pancake House is my go-to breakfast spot in Montauk! As soon as you walk in, you're greeted with old fashioned diner vibes and friendly service. The menu is filled with various breakfast dishes, from different types of pancakes and waffles to eggs, omelettes, and crepes. The restaurant is cozy with views of a bustling or sleepy Montauk Highway (depends on the season) and is great year round. I have happy memories here and will always return when in Montauk.
